Engineer, Staff I - DRM/Security Test
- Broadcom's Mobile and Wireless Group is developing ASICs integrating baseband modems and application processors supporting multiple technologies. These cutting edge ASICs integrate multiple modem technologies like 2G/GSM, 3G/WCDMA/HSPA and 4G/HSPA+/LTE. They also incorporate multimedia components such as video decoder, video encoder, image processor, and graphics accelerator.
- The System Test team is looking for a highly motivated candidate to work on chipset and platform security. The role involves developing and implementing operating methods and procedures to thoroughly test DRM/Security on mobile products. The candidate will work closely with hardware, software and systems engineering teams to achieve product objectives.
- The Mobile products with DRM/Security are driven by software components which include complex DRM and Security Architecture. Candidate will support wide range of DRM and security features including low level crypto API’s to high level DRM stacks such as Playready, Widevine, and OMA DRM.
You will have the
following responsibilities:
- Develop automated test scripts for various test suites using existing automation framework
- Devise test strategies for different platforms and software environments including 3rd party applications
- Initiate and develop proactive methods to detect product weaknesses in a timely manner
- Conduct tests as required, analyze and report results, and document and track issues using defect management software
- Provide product feedback to engineering teams, including program managers, and actively engage in solutions
Job Requirements
- Education Qualifications: BS / MS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 0 – 3 years of relevant experience
- Selected candidate would be responsible for testing DRM/Security features on mobile platforms
- Responsibilities would include test plan development, test cases execution, test case automation, debugging and reporting of issues
- Experience with Android and/or Linux OS is preferred
- Experience/knowledge of Content Security, PlayReady, Widevine and OMA DRM 1.x (Digital Right Management) is a plus
- Knowledge OpenSSL, cryptography fundamentals and algorithms such as RSA, AES, 3DES and public/private keys is beneficial
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as Perl/Python/TCL is helpful
- Understanding of wireless communication protocols such as CDMA or UMTS preferred
